This past weekend was the D23 Expo 2019 held at the Anaheim Convention Center. If you are not familiar, it is Disney’s big biennial convention where they announce all of the exciting company news. There are panels, venders, cosplayers, exhibits, and special events.
Among the show floor was the D23 Expo Design Challenge exhibit. A collection of artwork by twenty-three talented artists. This years theme was a celebration of the Haunted Mansion’s 50th Anniversary. I was fortunate enough to not only have my artwork on display but also won 2nd place!
Now my artwork along with the first and third place winners will reside in the Walt Disney Archives! I can imagine it being carted away into a large warehouse full of nondescript boxes, much like the end scene of Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark.
